We must make History, fellas. This year, Iowa DeMolay has the chance to do what it has not done in many years. We only need 11 new members to achieve what so few jurisdictions are able to do... net gain. We have the chance to get net gain by tailgate(october 4). We have the chance to break the State Record for membership of 132 from 1992. This record just so happens to be the number set by the 1991-1992 SMC and current Executive Officer, Shane Harshbarger, and the SMC for 1992-1993 SMC, Matt Buckley. With this record comes a prestigious ranking for jurisdictions our size, the 500 club. That's right, with 133 new members, we will have 500 total active membership in Iowa.

Lets go get Net Gain by Tailgate, knock Shane's State Record out of the books, and get ourselves into that 500 club by December 31. You guys have worked hard all year so why not finish it off by making history and letting generations to come know what you achieved in 2003. Opportunities to break records don't come too often so you must go out there and bring more friends to DeMolay than ever.

Who knows, in the process you could get yourself a #1 pin (1 new member), a Founder's Membership Award (5 new members), a Blue Honor Key (10 new members) and a star. Do it for Iowa DeMolay, your chapter, for your friends or for yourself. We don't care, just go get it!

"Blue Forty-two. Blue Forty-two. Ready. Down, Set, Hike!" It's that time of year again, where us men must come from where ever, and gather to show just what we are made of. It's time for the football tournament at Tailgate '03, which is taking place in Cedar Falls/Waterloo on October 4th.

To start the day, we will have a full form initiation at the Cedar Falls temple, where we will honor one of our own Senior DeMolays, the Potentate of the Al Kahir Shrine in Cedar Rapids. The shrine gives Iowa DeMolay a lot of support, so let's show our appreciation and make this one of the most spectacular initiations in Iowa DeMolay.

After the initiation is lunch and the football tournament. The tournament promises to be an awesome battle, as it seems like everyone has set their sites on the championship, and the chance to take down the reigning champs, Cyclone chapter. Also, coming back this year is the Punt/Pass/Kick contest, where someone better step up and remove Brad Selken as the champion.

This year, we are grilling out for dinner, with brats before we speed right off to the hockey game, where the brawl will be taken on the ice. The Waterloo Blackhawks will take on the Des Moines Buccaneers.

Also this year, Brawl in Cedar Falls returns, with a promising battle between the East and the West. In the East corner, we have Keokuk, Burlington, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and Dubuque. In the west, we have Southgate, Altoona, Boone, Ames, and Cedar Falls. For each new member between September 1st and October 4th, the team will receive 7 points. For each member that attends tailgate 2 points, and each advisor 3 points. At Tailgate, the points will be tallied and the winners will receive an awesome Tee shirt.

Registration is due by 26th, and cost only $15, hardly the price of the hockey game alone. So show up, and show us what type of man you really are!

Champlain Chapter in Boone is going to the nations capital, Washington D.C. to Compete in the Mid-Atlantic Ritual Tournament. Champlain Chapter has been working hard for along time to make sure that they will give every chapter a run fir their money. This is the first time Champlain has competed in the Mid-Atlantic Ritual Tournament. Champlain has also been to Toledo, Ohio and in Texas for the Frank Marshall Tournament.

Champlain has also put in long hours of fundraising to finance this Expensive trip. They worked at the Boone County Fair with watching entrances and gates, and also picked up Trash at the IMCA speedway in Boone. With out this fundraising this trip could not be possible.

Lets give them a thumbs up. And may god speed and guard them on their way!
