Full Form Your New Guys In Cedar Falls
|
Posted by Kyle Martin
And if you don't have any new guys to full form, GO GET SOME!!!
It's that time of year again when we need to bump the membership drive up a
notch. The State Officers have planned two full form initiations for the month
of December: one in Cedar Falls and one in Altoona.
On December 21-22, 2003, bring your prospects and recently initiated members to
the Regional Initiation in Cedar Falls, Iowa (where we had Tailgate) for fun and
entertainment. The weekend will get started Saturday evening with a full form
initiation then move into an all out Lock-in with VIDEO GAMES, Cards, Board
Games, FOOD and everything else associated with a LOCK-IN.
"East" - Hawkeye, Allen, Cedar Rapids, James A Guest, Micheal H Barnes
Chapters are encouraged to attend this weekend although you can go to both if
you want. Be sure to check out Gabe's article to see where you stand in
getting your Eagle Head Trophy at All Star.
The first DeMolay who can find out the name of Frank S. Land's wife, gets a
free DeMolay T-shirt that I guarantee nobody in Iowa has. Tell me via email or
at an upcoming Regional Initiation.

DeMolay Initiation and Halo Tournament
|
Posted by Tom Bowersox
December 6th will bring yet another momentous first to Iowa DeMolay. In
Altoona, we are going to be having our usual DeMolay Initiation, as a last
effort to bring in those one or two candidates that are sitting in the
wings. This year, it is going to be all that, but so much better.
The ritual itself will have the dizzying highs that it always has, but this year
we've added something more. We are going to have the biggest X-Box LAN
party that any of you have ever been involved in. We're going to have 4
X-Boxes interconnected so we can have 16, count them 16, DeMolays engaging
in brutal, simulated combat. This is going to be something to look forward
to.
This is something that's going to be talked about for years to come.
Make sure you're one of the people saying "I remember when..." and not the
losers that say "This one time my friends..."
Be there, December 6th, at the Altoona Masonic Temple. More details to
follow.

Membership is rockin
|
Posted by Gabe Arne
Wow, I can't think of the words to tell everyone with the rather impressive membership stats we have had this year. We have two chapters in the top ten. Together, we have won the ISC Membership Mania II membership contest, and are so close to reaching the first leg of our goal. To date, we have 100 new members in Iowa, which is only 1 away from the amount we need to reach net growth. Everyone seems to be doing great!
However, we have another goal for this year, and that is for Iowa to grow with 133 new members. Sure this sounds like a lot, but we are almost there! We still have two months left to initiate, and after we are done, all of you will have bragging rights, saying that you helped to set Iowa DeMolay's membership record.
Now, look over to the right of the newsletter, and you will see where your chapter stands. Many of you are so close to getting your Eagle Head. Allen, Southgate, Allen, Champlin chapters, you all are close. With having 4 or less members to initiate, the goal of 12 isn't hard to reach. For the rest of the chapters who aren't quite up there, it isn't impossible either. Plan some more activities, and invite everyone you can. Take advantage of the regional initiations, and you will be there.
Once again, Congrats to everyone for making this year successful, and keep up the good work.

It's Halloween, time to dig some members up from whichever crypts and tombs you frequent. We need to hit 133 members for the year and we're right around 100. See the articles in this issue about the upcoming Regional Initiations, and where you can bring your candidates to get full formed.
