As promised here are the basics for the Iowa DeMolay Treasure Hunt.  This is your chapters' chance to find the clues and discover the great treasure hid by the Templars and passed on to the Free Masons and now to the DeMolays of Iowa.  The treasure hunt begins after the chapter views the movie National Treasure.  After the movie please read the attached document that outlines the contest. 

 

There is more to the contest than just the 100 gold coins but the chance to for fun and brotherhood while trying to find the treasure and what it is.  Each chapter will receive two guesses on what the Iowa DeMolay treasure is.  A chapter can guess at any time they think they know what the treasure is but all guesses must be submitted by Dec 31st.  The treasure winner will be announced on January 1st. 

 

The chapter with the most new members (minimum 4) will receive the $100 but any chapter can win the treasure (a separate prize).  The Iowa DeMolay treasure will go to the chapter who finds the treasure and initiates a minimum of two new members during the contest period.  In case of a tie the earliest correctly submitted guess wins.  Your chapter will receive a major clue with each new member reported on a Form 10 within ten days. 

 

The minor clues will be given when a prospect attends a chapter event or when a prospects petitions for membership.  Yes, a prospect can be counted twice once at the fun event and once when he petitions.  A prospect cannot be counted more than once for fun events.  To receive the minor clue the prospects' name, address, phone and birth date must be submitted to Iowa DeMolay along with the name, date, and location of the chapter event attended.

 

Special clues will be awarded to chapters that attend the Regional Initiations on December 5 in Cedar Rapids and December 13 in Boone.
